The Chinese ban on BHP Iron Ore imports from Australia and a pivot to Simandau Guinea for Chinese Iron Ore. The National Security perspective.


In the backdrop of the Chinese Government cancellation of the Australian BHP Iron Ore imports, the African supplies of Iron Ore operations is about to begin.
Breaking: October 6th 2025,
The Engines have arrived in Simandou, Guinea, in preparation for the first 10 million metric tons of the highest-grade Iron Ore in the world destined for China.

The Shipping lanes for the African Iron Ore will traverse the Malacca Strait towards China via the Chinese Nine Dash Line.

The Chinese Carrier Strike Fleets, Liaoning CSG, the Shandong CSG and the soon to be commissioned Fujian CSG are specifically designed to secure the precious iron ore shipping lanes from Africa to China.
The threat of US back FONOPS especially by Australia and AUKUS in disrupting African sourced minerals is high on the Chinese National Security Threat variable. The Chinese A2AD within the Nine Dash Line perimeter is earmarked specifically to curtail any disruptive threats from potential enemies, most notably AUKUS and QUAD member Nations. Australia is considered as the most likely to gain from the disruption of African sourced Iron Ore.
