Final Report on Loss of HMNZS Manawanui | The lesson of Colonial Paternalism for British Subjects of New Zealand.
An incredible ignominous Schmuzzle that has irreparably besmirched the international repute of the Royal New Zealand Navy forever. Chronological sequence from start to finish is so self incriminating it is almost criminallly culpable if it were not for the fact that these were New Zealand's finest Naval Seamen on record and transparent to the world. There is alot of criticism for the Royal New Zealand recruitment procedures of purportedly highly qualified Naval Commanders from the Commonwealth, namely from the British Royal Navy, taken to task to Command a Royal New Zealand Naval Vessel, and with the affidavit evidence she clearly was not familiar with the Ship's operations as evidenced in the affidavit. Which brings the vetting process into question. Who recruited her to serve in the Royal New Zealand Navy? Who recruited this Royal Navy Officer to take charge of New Zealand's most expensive Warship and yet she knew as much of the Ship as she knew of New Zealand society as an Englishwoman from England?
The Colonial Sentimentality and submissiveness to Colonial Paternalism leading to this example of British Paternalism is very patronising and the subsequent naval debacle is a just dessert for the Colonial Toadism of a British Colonial Subjects in the South Seas. Coincidentally, the grounding of the Ship was a mere metres from where His Majesty King Charles III was residing in Siumu Village, during his stay in Samoa, for the 2024 CHOGM. Now that seems almost poetic justice for sycophantic New Zealand Colonial Subjects, Methinks....
